Shaders overview

- [Instructor] This video is on the different shaders you can use. Some of the shaders that you can use are purely aesthetic, they're only for looks, and some are functional. There's a lot more aesthetic ones than there are functional ones. So we're going to start here with a 3D scan I did using 123D Catch of a bamboo tree here in my office. So shaders, the first one is an aesthetic one. I'm going to zoom in here. And how you use shaders is you click on the shader and drag it into your scene. You can drag it on your model, or just into your scene, to do the shading. Now you see that this is just kind of a shiny metallic shader. It's nice and pretty, but it's not one that you should, you know, always use, because the shininess can kind of get in the way of doing things. Click on Shader, the second one over is the main Meshmixer shader. This is a very nice one to use because it shows all of the Meshmixer-specific features, like face groups and open boundaries and all sorts of different…
