Preparing your mesh for best stencil results

- [Lecturer] One thing to note is that you need to have a good density model to get a good result with stencils. So we had our bunny that I started off with but I'm going to go in here to say Import Plane and replace it, so we just have a default plane here I'm going to press W to go into wire frame and this will not give a good result for a stencil because the mesh isn't dense enough to show all of the detail in that picture. So I'm going to go into Select and do Control + A on the PC or Command + A to select everything in the mesh. And then I'm going to go up to Edit to Remesh or hotkey R. I'm going to do Linear Subdivision which will make a very even mesh, although you could use really any inside of here. I'm going to crank this up all the way to 50% and click Accept. Now this is fine, it actually could be used but I want a really good example to show you so with this still selected, I'm going to go back in to Remesh and then crank it up another 50% and this'll take a lot longer to remesh because it has to calculate a lot more triangles. But now when I click Accept, and Clear Selection, the plane looks black. It's really not black if we zoom in we start to see a ton on little tiny triangles, but this is a very nice dense mesh. But also be aware that this is much much harder for your computer to work on so just be aware that things will take a lot longer with a mesh this dense. If I turn off wire frame I get a nice clean mesh but just know that there's a lot of complexity underneath. So in the next video we'll talk about how to actually apply this stencil properly.
