Introduction to the types of CAD modeling tools

- This series of videos, I want to let you in on to a little secret. Meshmixer is not the only program out there that you can use to create awesome 3D models that can be shown online or eventually 3D printed. There are a lot of other tools out there. So this series of videos goes into where Meshmixer fits into the range of CAD products out there. I break these down into a couple of different categories, polygonal and prismatic. If you look inside of Meshmixer, you will see models made up of hundreds, thousands, 100,000, one million tiny little triangles. That is a polygonal mesh. If you go into a CAD program, of which I've show you Autodesk Fusion 360 in these set of videos, Fusion 360 is a CAD design, product design software. It tries to use the least amount of complexity possible to get the most complex result. If you look inside of a CAD program, you don't see any triangles at all.
