Introduction to Meshmixer support structures and why they're great
- If you've done much with 3D printing, you know that support structures are something that you have to use for overhanging parts of your model that your extruder nozzles are unable to print without them falling into mid air. Meshmixer creates really, really nice and dynamically changeable support structures. Not only can you add and delete those support structures, but at the end of the day, they turn in to 3D models themselves. You can go in and sculpt, and paint, and do all sorts of things with the support structures that Meshmixer creates. Now I personally have never had a support structure that Meshmixer creates peel up off of the build plate. I'll go into that in more of the videos later on. But Meshmixer is a great tool that you can use to create all of the support structures you need, or use Meshmixer in conjunction with your slicer to create support structures both inside of Meshmixer and in your slicer to get the best prints possible.
