Fixing a non-manifold model

- [Instructor] Fixing non-manifold objects is very important. It will prevent 3D printing, and if you need to just use your model online for showing a lot of times online viewers will complain if your object is non-manifold. You can get non-manifold objects in a few ways. A non-manifold object is something that has a hole in it. So when, example, a 3D printer goes into print this object it goes and says, "Great. The outside, I know where the outside is," and then suddenly it flips this corner and it thinks that the inside is on the outside because it follows the surface inwards. So, that is a problem. If you're using Meshmixer with the default shader, the inside will see this kind of pink and light pink striping to show you what the inside is. These are called normals. So, these are normals that are facing outwards, these are facing inwards. If I select this area here and go to Edit to Flip Normals we can now have the inside facing outside. So, that's what the Flip Normals command..…
