Extending surfaces - Meshmixer Tutorial
From the course: 3D Scanning a Person
Extending surfaces
- In this video we'll look at ways to transform and extend our surfaces. Now on this scan I wish I'd gotten a little bit more of his body. Because we have some jagged edges here that are gonna force my cutting plane really high up into the scan. So in this video we're gonna get rid of some of these jagged edges and then we're going to use a Transform tool to pull and extend out those surfaces. Let's go into a front view here. Both of these shoulders have issues so I'm gonna go into the Select tool and I'm gonna draw some Lasso lines and Delete those faces on both shoulders. Zoom in, take a closer look. These sort of foldbacks have some potential to cause some problems. So I'll paint on a selection. Then I'll choose X. Go around to the back. Delete out any areas there. Expand that selection just a little bit. Delete those edges. Alright, come back around to the front. Zoom out. With the Select tool open I'll double-click on this boundary. Then I'll hold the Shift key. Use that right…
