Join Nick Kloski for an in-depth discussion in this video Cutting and fixing holes, part of Meshmixer: 3D Print Prep Basics.
- [Instructor] This video is how to cut and enlarge…or do things with holes.…Pretty simple, but it can be a little bit interesting…in Mesh Mixer, so that's why we're recording this video.…I have the default bunny here.…So obviously, the easiest way to cut a hole in your model…is just to go into Select…and draw a hole and hit the delete key…or the x key to discard it.…You now have a hole in your model,…but since Mesh Mixer is a shell-based modeling tool,…you don't have a hole on the other side.…
It's just a hole through one skin.…And if I click and try to select inside of here,…nothing happens.…So first of all, if you're dealing with holes in Mesh Mixer,…you want to do two things.…You want to make sure you are…in the Mesh Mixer shading mode.…So there's all sorts of shading modes.…If I go into this, it's beautiful and golden,…but I lose a lot of information.…So I see this inside of here is also gold.…That doesn't help me as much.…You want to make sure you go into Shaders,…you go all the way to the top, and the second one over,…
