Boolean Union success via remeshing
- [Instructor] Now sometimes also, having different density of meshes can affect a Boolean Union or subtraction or difference, and you want to make sure that your mesh is of the same or similar density to have the Booleans work properly. So there's a few different ways to do this. We have two meshes here that are both versions of the sphere. One is reduced, and one is regular size. Now generally, Meshmixer wants complexity. So we would not want to make this sphere less complex, because in the Boolean operation, it's going to add in triangles anyway. So as a general rule, Meshmixer wants complexity. So what we would be doing is when we have a choice of which object to work on, we would want to work on this object, and make it more complex. So in this case, we would see that the sphere on the right cuts into these triangles around. So we can go in with the select tool and paint in a selection. You don't have to be too terribly accurate, but for the triangles that are touching or close…
