Understanding filler
- [Instructor] When you have a space in a sequence on a track, it's treated in a very particular way in media composer. That space is referred to as filler. And it deserves a special mention before we get into more complex sequences. I'm going to press the home key on my keyboard here. I could equally just drag and scrub the play head back to the beginning of the sequence. Because I'm going to perform a special kind of edit. Up in the source monitor, I'm going to right click and I'm going to choose load filler. This loads up two minutes of filler. I can tell because if I look at the center duration at the top of the composer window, I know that my play heads to the beginning. So it's two minutes in total. And I'm going to choose a shorter section. I'm going to just move the play head to about 30 seconds from the end. And of course the play head's going to be used as an end point, So if I splice this into my sequence,…
