Removing material with the Extract tool

- [Narrator] We could reasonably say that the lift edit is the equivalent to an overwrite edit. Overwrite adds content, replacing whatever is in the sequence and not moving anything around, and a lift removes content. Again, not moving anything around. It just raises that part of the sequence. So, the reciprocal edit to splicing is the extract. And I'm going to illustrate that with the repetition of the dialogue that we have a little bit later in this sequence. Let's have a quick listen. - If the man doesn't want it, he doesn't have to take it. - It's the semis, Ivan. We'll miss kickoff. - [Man In Blue Shirt] Listen, if the man doesn't want it, he doesn't have to take it. - [Narrator] So, I think we could reasonably lose pretty much all of this dialogue.
