Learning the basic workflow

- [Instructor] For almost any project you work on, there are going to be specific stages that you will go through. Some of these you might just think about for a moment, and some you might spend days or weeks on. Let's take a look at the key stages that pretty much every project has. First of all, you're going to create the project files with the appropriate format settings. Then you're going to input some media, either by linking or by importing and transcoding and copying over to the Avid Media files folder. Next, you're going to prepare your footage and organize your bins ready for editing. Then, of course, you'll edit and re-edit your scene or scenes for story structure. This, of course, can take weeks or months if you're working on a long-form documentary project. Next, you'll trim the scenes to improve the pacing and timing. Then you'll mix the audio.
