How to use the exercise files

- [Instructor] If you have access to the exercise files for this course, you can download them to your desktop. There are two sets for this course. So you should end up with two folders each containing an exercise files folder. I'm going to start by going into the Exercise Files One folder here. And there's a Media folder that you can simply drag onto your desktop or place anywhere you like on your machine. I encourage you to put this somewhere that is a fast storage drive. And for ease of linking, when we're working through the lessons, it's best if you can place this on your desktop. Because that's where I've been working from in this course. Now we have that, I can delete the folder. And inside our Exercise Files Number Two we have a Projects folder. Which I'm going to pull down to the desktop, as well. You can place that anywhere you like. And another Media folder. To make it easier to download these files I've separated them into two groups. And I'm going to take this Anesthesia and Sync Media folder and just drag them into the Media folder that we already have. I should mention at this point that we're very grateful to Edit Stock for providing some of the fantastic media we have to work with in these lessons. I think you'll appreciate it as much as I do. Now that we have the media I can delete this folder too. And we're ready to work. You'll be accessing the projects from inside of Media Composer. So don't worry too much about the structure of this folder, for now. When you open the projects Media Composer should link automatically to the Media Files, because all of the media has been used in a linked form rather than an ingested form. These are all QuickTime movies or still images that Media Composer can access directly. Or I should say, natively. If you do place your media in a different location Media Composer may need to relink. And that's it, we're ready to start.
