From the course: Maya: Dynamic Simulations with Bullet Physics

Welcome

- [Voiceover] Hello, I'm Aaron F. Ross. Welcome to Dynamic Simulations with Bullet Physics in Maya. Bullet is an open-source physics engine designed for real-time applications, and the developers at AutoDesk have folded Bullet into Maya. It's a replacement for Maya's classic Rigid Body and Soft Body Dynamics. This course will get you started creating Bullet simulations with Polygon objects. We'll look at Dynamic and Passive Rigid Bodies, integrating Dynamics with keyframes, constraints, soft bodies, and more. Bullet particularly excels with heavy and complex seams, such as breakage simulations, using a feature called Rigid Sets. Bullet also integrates with Alembic, which is a file format that provides caching, baking, and import/export functionality. There's a whole new world of high-performance dynamics in Maya, so let's explore it with Bullet simulations.
