Visualizing motion trail anchor transforms
- Maya 2016 has just a few new features directly related to animation. One of them is a new addition to the Editable Motion Trail. This allows us to now visualize the motion of objects in screen space, that is, relative to the camera. This is useful, especially with an animated camera shot, like this one. I've got an animated helicopter shot here that's derived from another course, "Cinematography in Maya," and I can play this back, but before I do, I want to make sure that my Playback Settings are good. Right click on the Timeline and make sure the Playback Speed is Play Every Frame Max Real Time, and also turn on the Heads Up Display Frame Rate, Display, Heads Up Display, Frame Rate, and I've got a whole bunch of Viewport 2.0 features enabled here including Lighting, Motion Blur, and Ambient Occlusion.
