Using substance textures in Arnold

- [Instructor] Hi, I'm George Maestri, and today we're going to take a look at Substance for Maya. Now, Substance is a way to parametrically create materials and textures for your Maya scenes. So it is a plugin, and it's not normally turned on, so a lot of people don't know about it. First thing we need to do is make sure the plugin is turned on, so I'm going to go into Windows, Settings Preferences, Plugin Manager, and scroll down until I see Substance.mll. Now, I want to check to make sure it's loaded, and if you want to use it all the time, go ahead and turn on Auto Load. Now that it's loaded, let's go ahead and take a look at how this works. Now, I'm going to go ahead and do this in the Hypershade window. Now, Substance was created a while back, actually, and works really great with Maya software materials, but I want to show you how to use it with Arnold, because Arnold is how we are going to be rendering in Maya.
