Using a manipulator to set clipping planes
To conclude our chapter on renderable camera basics, I want to show you a cool technique which will allow you to see through walls. And that will let you, for example, have a long shot in a tight confined space, such as this room. And it's accomplished by setting the near clip plane on your renderable camera. So let's say for example that the story calls for a long shot of these two characters in this room. So I would dolly back in the camera viewport here with Alt and right mouse button. And if I dolly back enough, the camera's outside the room and there's a wall in the way. Well, I could remodel my scene to get rid of the wall, but it's easier just to set the clipping plane. So I'll press the four key in the camera view here so I can see Wire Frame and then just frame my shot. So, that's the framing that I want. I just want to eliminate this wall.
