- [Instructor] In the previous movie, we created a cool rig in which the distance of the camera affects the brightness of a material. If I go over to the top view and select the camera, I can move it in its local or object space as I dolly it backward we see the material here fades to black and if I dolly forward it fades in. This works great and Maya Viewport 2.0, but unfortunately for whatever reason it's not working in Arnold currently. Let's test that, I'll click on the camera Viewport to give it focus, launch the Arnold Render View, go to the menus and choose Arnold, Render. Then select the camera and once again move it, we can see that although I have interactive production rendering enabled and seen updates are also enabled, we're not seeing that material change as the camera moves forward and back.
