From the course: Maya: Dynamic Simulations with Bullet Physics

Using the exercise files

As always in Maya, you need to have a project folder to manage your assets. Premium subscribers can download the exercise files, but if you don't have the exercise files you'll need to create a project folder within Maya and then save files out as you go. To create a project folder, go into the File menu and go to the Project Window. And you'll see my current project is the default one it's in current user documents Maya projects. To create a new project I'll click New and I'll just leave it at that same location but I'll give it a new name. We'll call it Maya_Bullet_Project and click Accept. And that has created the folder and also pointed or set Maya at that folder. So if we go to the File menu and choose Open Scene, it takes us to Documents\mayaprojects\Maya_Bullet_Projec- t\scenes. But it's currently empty because we haven't saved anything in there yet. And we can see that here if I minimize Maya and go over to Current User > Documents > maya > projects. Here it is, Maya_Bullet_Project. That's the process if you don't have the exercise files. If you do have the exercise files you can put them anywhere that's convenient. I put them on my desktop here. And if we open that up we will see that there are a bunch of Maya scene files. In the scenes folder. Okay, so if you do have these files then you'll want to set Maya to that project. Go back to Maya. Go back into the File menu, but this time chose Set Project and then navigate to wherever that project is located. Currently, it's in Aaron F. Ross > Desktop. And just select the file folder, and click Set. And now, if we go into the File menu and choose Open Scene it'll take us to the exercise files scenes. And there they all are. Okay, we're ready to begin Dynamic Simulations with Maya Bullet.
