Join Ryan Kittleson for an in-depth discussion in this video Using GoZ between ZBrush and Maya, part of Digital Creature Creation in ZBrush Photoshop and Maya.
Being able to quickly take models back and forth between ZBrush and Maya is a…huge advantage to using GoZ.…It does have its quirks however.…It doesn't always work smoothly.…It's a new technology that's getting the kinks worked out.…As long as we're careful and don't try to make it work too hard, it should be…able to do what we need it to do.…Let's use it to get the sculpt as we have it into Maya, so that we can model…things like eyes and teeth over there.…GoZ will send over the lowest subdivision level of the active sub-tool.…There's just one sub-tool so we don't have to worry about that right now.…
Just go ahead and click on GoZ.…If you see this pop-up just go ahead and click Continue.…Okay, now we are in Maya.…You can go ahead and close this window and I want to go ahead and zoom in on…this and hit 5 on the keyword so we can see the shaded view.…Now let's click on the model and go into its attributes.…So you can see here, it's given the same name as the sub-tool head in ZBrush Dewhopper.…If you want to make any changes to the model here in Maya, and then send those…
