Join George Maestri for an in-depth discussion in this video Understanding the Hypergraph, part of Maya 2015 Essential Training.
…Maya's hypergraph window is a visual way to organize your scenes.…Now it's similar to the outliner in the way that it works…but a little bit different, so let's take a look at this.…We are going to go into window hypergraph.…Now there are two entries here…one hypergraph hierarchy the other hypergraph connections.…We are going to start off with hierarchy.…Now when I open this up it brings up this window.…Now this window behaves very similarly to a viewport and…we can navigate it just like we can a viewport.…
I can hold down the alt key, middle click to pan, and right click to zoom.…Now it's a 2D window so we can't tumble or rotate but we can certainly pan and zoom.…Now, I'm going to go ahead and organize this so we can…see it a little bit more closely with what's in our scene.…Now this can work very similar to the outliner in that I can select an object in…the scene and you can see how it…highlights in yellow as I select the individual objects.…
And if I zoom in here you can see that each one…of these little nodes has the name of the object on it.…
