- [Instructor] Just like all animation projects, storyboarding is a key stage in production. A storyboard is a series of drawings that represent each shot of an animation. It is one of the most important components for your client, especially in the field of medical animation, where you're often animating complex concepts or microscopic worlds that we have no frame of reference for. At this stage, a medical animator will work very closely with a medical expert to define the objectives of the animation and develop the story so that it is engaging for the learner, meets any learning goals, and conveys this information in an accurate way. In pre-production, it is important to be clear what the needs of the client are. Carefully review any source material they have provided, and review the script.
