Skinning with the Delta Mush deformer

- Another area of 3D computer graphics that is classically difficult and time-consuming is the painting of skin weights. And that of course is to equalize the effects of various joints and other influence objects on a skinned mesh such as a character. Well with Maya 2016 we can accelerate the process of rigging a skinned character by using a new deformer called Delta Mush. And when you use Delta Mush you may not even need to paint skin weights at all. Its purpose is to smooth out the effects of the skin deformation while preserving all of the surface details. In this example I'm going to use a very simple sculpting base mesh of a humanoid figure. And it doesn't really have much surface detail on it. But the Delta Mush deformer will work with any arbitrarily complex model. In other words, you could have a humanoid figure that has tons of surface detail on it, like wrinkles, and veins, and tendons popping out.
