Rendering a technical illustration

- [Instructor] The Arnold Renderer provides the ability to render contours for a line drawing effect of a technical illustration, let's set that up in the Render Settings dialogue. Open that, go over to the Arnold Renderer tab, and because we're only rendering contours, and not surfaces, we can knock down the sampling and the ray depth to speed up the rendering. Let's bring the Camera Anti-Aliasing Samples down to only 1, for testing purposes, and we can also bring the Diffuse and Specular samples down to 0, because again, we're not going to render any surfaces. We're going to turn off Progressive Render, and also go into the Ray Depth section, and again, because we're not rendering any shaded surfaces, we're going to bring the number of rays for Diffuse and Specular down to 0.
