Referencing the wheel in the car scene
Okay, so we're back in our main car scene now, and we need to get the wheel brought in four times. Maya has a great feature called "Referencing". This allows us to bring in other scenes. It's great, because once the wheel is referenced in, we can make changes to the wheel scene, and those changes will automatically be updated in the car scene. Let's see how it works. Let's go up to File, and come down to Create Reference, and let's go in our exercise files. Make sure you're in the right version number. And then, let's go into the wheel folder, and pick wheel, and Reference. Now, you can see that it's quite a bit bigger than it should be. No worries. Just go ahead and select its locator, and then scale it down to the size it should be. Now, let's just fit it to the blueprints. So. let's see. I want to have it on this side of the car, since we can see that the outside is facing to the car's right side. And, we'll just scale it a little bit more. Let's see. We'll position it in this…
