Join George Maestri for an in-depth discussion in this video Overview of the Maya interface, part of Maya 2015 Essential Training.
…Let's go ahead and get started by launching Maya and…taking a look at the basics of the Maya interface.…Now, I have Maya as a shortcut on my desktop.…You may launch it from the menu or some other place, but I'm just…going to go ahead and double-click on Maya and it will bring up two windows.…One is called the output window and that gives you some debugging information.…And then we have the main Maya window here.…Now, when you first start Maya, you're going to get these little Help menus.…The first one will highlight the new features in Maya.…
So, it will put these green brackets around them…and you can see one of them is right here.…Now, if you want to highlight what's new, you can…just leave that on, I'm going to go ahead and turn that…off, you can see how that toggles that on or…off, and then, do you want to show this at startup?…Well, I just want to get into Maya pretty…quickly, so I'm going to check all of these off.…And hit OK and then the second one basically…just gives you access to Autodesk's own startup movies.…
