Model a threaded hex head bolt

- [Instructor] Hi I'm George Mastery and today is a modeling day. We're going to take a look at threads and screws by modeling a bolt that looks a lot like this. Now this is a great way to improve your modeling skills, so let's just go ahead and get started. Now we're going to start off with this scene here called Hex Head, and I've already modeled the top of the bolt, and that's just to save some time. And I've modeled this out of a simple cylinder and it has six sides and a total of 18 divisions radially, so that's an important number that we need to remember. So I'm going to go ahead and hide this. So I'm going to go Display, Hide, Selection, or Control H. And now let's go ahead and get started with the threads. So I'm going to start off by creating a helix. Now a helix is basically thread-shaped and it's a great primitive to start off with.
