- [Voiceover] Hi, I'm Aaron F. Ross. Welcome to Maya Bifrost, Dynamic Simulations. Bifrost is a fluid dynamics engine for high-quality liquids in visual effects. It combines the best of volumetric and particle solvers. In this course, we take an overview of the Bifrost implementation in Autodesk Maya. Although the workflow of a complex simulation can be demanding, the goal of this course is to make the process transparent. We'll channel the power of Bifrost to create an animated effect shot.
Using emitter, collider, accelerator, and liquid property nodes, we simulate a medium-scale liquid effect, and store it to disk as a cache. Rendering the service at full quality requires generating an animated polygon mesh. For a convincing layered material, we extract Bifrost channel data, such as vorticity, and apply it in a shading network. The course concludes with a look at the arrow solver for atmospheric effects. Let's discover the power and flexibility of this simulation engine in Maya Bifrost, Dynamic Simulations.
