…Now, the next step in this process is to…create something to accept the shadows of the scene.…So, I'm going to go ahead and create a plane.…I'm going to actually hit my space bar and jump out into…my four-view here, and just go ahead and frame my scene.…And then, I'm going to just create a simple plane.…In fact, I'm just going to use a NURBS plane.…And just drag it out so that it covers pretty much…where my characters are and where any anticipated shadows would be.…
So, my characters are already set at 0, so I know that my ground plane is fine.…So now, I have a ground plane in place, but if I render this, you'll see…that while it is underneath the characters, it's…not really creating the ground plane that we need.…Now, in order to do this, we need to apply a shader to this.…And we have a special shader in Maya called Use Background.…So, I'm going to keep my plane selected.…Go to my Rendering shelf here.…
And this one here is called Use Background.…Now, when I apply this to the plane, look what happens.…It starts to take up the pixels that are behind…
