How to cache with Alembic files

- [Voiceover] When you're finished with your MASH network, and you're ready to render it, it's time to cache this out. Because we have this live, active procedural network and we always want to turn this into baked geometry before we actually render, so nothing goes awry. And if we're rendering on a render form, we have to do this so everything can be accessing the exact same things. So in this situation, we're dealing with a MASH repromesh, and we're just going to use Maya's alembic caching system to cache this out into a piece of geometry that then can be used in a new Maya scene, or it could be used, then, in any DCC application that works with alembic files. So it also also allows you to build stuff in Maya with MASH and then bring it to another environment. So what we're going to do is we're going to select our repromesh, and we're going to go to our Modeling menu. And we're going to go under Cache + Alembic Cache, and go Export Selection to Alembic, and you choose the Option…
