The first time you open Maya 2014, you'll see two windows above the main interface. The 1-Minute Startup Movies and the What's New Highlight Settings. I'm going to close this 1-Minute Startup Movies, and turn off the switch so that it won't display at Startup. Let's focus on the What's New Highlights. Okay, so that's a pretty cool feature of Maya 2014 that shows you what's new in the program. And we can tick this switch off so we don't see this window next time. And as you navigate through the interface, you will see that certain icons have brackets around them and certain menu items showing bright green with brackets indicating that those are new features. We can turn that on or off from the Help menu and go into Help > What's New and we can enable it or disable it. And additionally, you can also go directly to the Preferences by just clicking on this Options box here. And that takes us to a section that controls the Highlight What's New options.
