Glass and refractive surfaces in Arnold

- [Instructor] Hi I'm George Maestri and today we're going to take a look at Arnold rendering and we're going to look at glass and refractive surfaces. So we're going to render something that looks a little bit like this, which is going to be a glass sphere with some refractions so let's go ahead and get started. Now I'm going to start off with this file called Refract_Start.ma and if we jump out here, we'll see it's a pretty simple file here. If I go into a perspective view, you can see it's just a sphere in front of some cylinders on a backdrop with a camera and this is the camera view that we'll be working with. Now I've already set up the lights and everything so we can just focus on creating a glassy refractive material. Now if I want, I can go into my Render Settings and make sure we're in our Arnold Renderer and I'm actually going to turn down some of my samples here, just so that it renders a little bit faster. So I'm going to turn down samples on Camera (AA), Diffuse, Glossy…
