Finishing the rims
We're almost done with the rims now. Just some finishing touches to bring it all together. So, I've got all the pieces of the rim combined into one object. And, I also merged all the vertices, so you can see with Smoothing Mode turned on, it's now smoothing across the gaps. So, there's just one thing I want to point out about this. We used the merge vertices function, and what it's got is a distance. So, all vertices within this distance will get merged. Now, you might find that too many, or not enough vertices are getting merged. Let me show you what I mean. So, if we increase this distance, you'll find that it starts merging verts that we really don't want to get merged, or if we bring it too low, you'll notice that these verts get unmerged. So, it might take a little bit of trial and error to find that sweet spot where just the right number of vertices get merged. You might even have to come in here and type in an exact number. So, now let's model the rest of the rim. Let's look at…
