Exposing legacy mental ray settings

- Maya 2016 has many new features for rendering and color management. First and foremost is the new version of Mental Ray. It's got a stripped down interface in which most of the key attributes have been hidden. You might want to get those back. And to do that, let's first take a look at what we're missing out on. If we go into the render settings dialog, and switch the renderer over to Mental Ray, go into the quality tab, and you will see indirect, diffuse or global illumination mode. And here's where we can enable final gathering for the indirect illumination. So I can turn on file and gather but I don't have any of the controls that I'm used to. All I've got here is just an indirect quality setting. And that's really not terribly helpful to me because I rely on the ability to tune the final gather settings to the individual shot to reduce my render times. So we can get the old interface back and get back at those key attributes. We'll need to go into the preferences to do that…
