Join George Maestri for an in-depth discussion in this video Drawing detail with the Connect tool, part of Maya 2015 Essential Training.
…Now there times when you'll need to go beyond…edge loops and add additional detail into your model.…And you can draw that detail using the connect tool.…So let's go ahead and create a simple polygonal plane,…and we're going to go ahead and just give it some detail.…I'm going to go into my inputs here, and let's go…ahead and select width and height, and just dial those up.…To six by middle clicking on those.…Now the connect tool is found under mesh tools…and it's basically a pretty straightforward tool to use.…
You just hover over what you want to connect and click.…So we can hover over faces or edges or vertices.…So if I wanted to connect faces all I have to…do is hold down the Shift key and start clicking on.…Faces and you can see how this starts to draw in the detail.…And it connects all of the selected faces.…Now when I like the detail that I have selected, all I have to do…is hit enter and that ends the input mode and now I have that additional detail.…
Now I can go into this again by going…connect tool and this time, we can connect edges.…
