Creating light groups
- [Instructor] Another great use for AOVs or render passes, is to save out the illumination from each light or group of lights, to a separate file and that will allow you to combine all of those images in post and control the intensity of each light individually, without having to re render. To do that in Arnold we'll set up light groups. We've got four lights in our scene, a skydome, a key light, which is a spot, and two rim lights. And we'll set up three AOV light groups, one for the skydome, one for the key light and one for both of the rim lights. Let's begin by selecting the skydome and lets open up the attribute editor with Ctrl + A. And in that AI skydome light shape node, we want to scroll down to the visibility section. And at the bottom of that Visibility, is something labeled, AOV Light Group. Notice that it has a little asterisk next to it, indicating that it is currently not supported on the GPU. We just…
