Join George Maestri for an in-depth discussion in this video Creating animation cycles, part of Maya 2015 Essential Training.
…When you want to do repetitive animation, a…lot of times you'll want to use Animation Cycles.…Now cycles can be configured in the Graph Editor,…and let's take a look at how to do that.…Here, I have a simple animation here, of a box basically just flipping over.…So it jumps up, flips over in the air, and lands on the other side.…So we have a green side, and a yellow side.…Now, let's say we wanted to continue that animation forward.…Well, we can do that using Animation Cycles.…
And, we can find that under Animation Editors>Graph Editor.…So, if I select my box here, you'll see that I have…a number of curves, and if I hit F, that'll frame everything.…So I've got animation along x, y, and z for translation.…And then also animation where the object is rotating along its z axis.…So it's not really rotating along x or y, but just z.…So let's start with Translation, let's just go ahead…and make the object hop from place to place.…Scale this down here.…Now we can do this by selecting a value here such…as Translation, and doing what's called a pre or post infinity cycle.…
