Join George Maestri for an in-depth discussion in this video Creating Bezier curves, part of Maya Essentials 3: NURBS Modeling Techniques.
Maya also has what are called Bezier curves.…Now these are a little bit different than NURBS curves in that each vertex has a…handle which determines the tangent size and direction.…You are probably familiar with Bezier curves if you've ever used Illustrator or Photoshop.…In fact, the Curve Editor in Maya also uses these types of curves, so they will…probably be familiar.…Let's show you how to use them.…I'm going to go into my top view.…I'm just going to go ahead and hit my spacebar to go into that view, and let's go into…the Create mode. Under Create we have Bezier Curve tool.…
Now all you have to do to create a vertex in this is a left-click and drag.…The click determines where the point is and the drag determines the tangent.…So when I left-click and I'm holding down my left-click, I drag out my tangent…and you can you see I'm creating what's called a Bezier handle.…So if I click again and drag, you can see how this handle works.…It actually determines the degree of curvature, so smaller curvature--lines…
