- [Instructor] Now that we understand some of the basics, let's create our own layers and collections using Maya's Render Setup. So, let's go ahead and open the Render Setup window. We can do that either here or under Windows, Rendering Editors, Render Setup. Now, when I open this, you'll see that I only have the default layers. I have to create new ones. So, let me go ahead and rearrange my screen here so that we can see our Render View and we can get a sense for what happens when we do Render Setup. Now, we create render layers here. All we have to do is hit a plus sign, it creates a render layer, and we can give that render layer whatever name we want. I'm just going to call this Layer A. Now, the layer itself is pretty much blank. So, if I click the visibility icon, you'll see that everything in the scene disappears except for the lights.
