Animating tumor growth, part 1
- [Instructor] A common medical animation you've most likely seen before is the growth of a tumor. To create this animation we're going to use nParticles. The first thing you want to do is create an environment of cells for this tumor to grow in and that's what we're going to cover in this video. The first thing we want to do is to create a plane in our scene. So in the Modeling menu, under the Poly Modeling tab, click Plane. And then we want to scale this up. Enter vertex selection mode and select the vertices on one side of your plane. Enable soft select mode by hitting B on your keyboard and, holding down B, and left button dragging, you can adjust the radius of this tool. We just want to raise this side up slightly. Now select your plane and then go into the FX menu and then go to nParticles and go to Emit From Object and open up the options box. Under the Emitter Type you want to change this to Surface and you want to set the speed to zero and then hit Create. The first thing you…
