Animating overlap quickly

- [Instructor] Hi there today we're going to take a look at how to do overlap animation in Maya fairly quickly. Now overlap is just a standard animation technique and it's used for a lot of different things. In this case, we're using it for a dog's tail but you can also use it for things such as ropes or chains or really any long chain of joints that's operating under a force. And so with overlap the force basically moves down the chain. So it starts at the base and then moves down towards the tip. So with overlap, basically all we need to do is animate two basic poses and then do some other stuff in the Graph Editor. So here, I've got a tail for this dog and it's got three joints we've got FK one, FK three and FK five. So what I'm going to do is just basically set some keys for this and cycle them.
