Animating blinks

- Hi, I'm George Maystreet. Today we're going to do a little bit of character animation, and we're going to take a look at blinks. Now blinks are one of the foundational fundamental things that you need to learn as character animation, and there are lots of little tips and tricks that I'm going to show you in this movie. Now, the first thing I need to discuss is, a lot of times we'll blink a character, when there is a change or a shift in that character. The character's head turns, he changes mood, something like that, and I like to think of blinks in that instance, as punctuation. It's a great way to end one part of the animation and start another, and a blink is a great transition into that. It draws the audience into the character, so that you see it. Now, we also use blinks simply to keep the character alive. That the character never blinked, it would look kind of like a doll. So here I have a character that's…
