Advanced snapping for joint placement

- [Narrator] Hi there. Today we're going to take a look at ways to use snapping to better place your joints within your characters. Now, Maya has a number of snapping options and they're all basically up here. Now, I'm sure you're familiar with some of them probably the most common is "Snap to Grid." So if I turn that on and let's say we wanted to create a joint. So I'm just going to select "Create Joints." You can basically just snap to any grid point. Now, typically our characters are not aligned to grid points so this is of moderate use it's not something we use all the time. But something you can use is "Snap to Points." And points include vertices. So let's say we're in this character here and we wanted to create some sort of skeleton to manipulate her hair. Well, what we can do is... we can snap to points.
