Getting the most out of your 3D printer

- [Rich Cameron] You can get some amazing prints out of a consumer level 3D printer. However, it requires some knowledge of your printer, its software, materials, and of course, a well-designed part. - [Joan Horvath] When you get started it can seem pretty complicated. How do you choose a software workflow? What materials do you want to use? And even which printer to buy? - [Rich Cameron] Your design might look great on a computer screen, but how do you translate that to a real object you can hold in your hand? Those decisions will all interact with each other, and changing one thing can have unpredictable results. - [Joan Horvath] We're Joan Horvath and Rich Cameron. The co-founders of Nonscriptum, LLC, and authors of many books on 3D printing and other technologies. We'll introduce you to some of the common software programs you might use to interact with a filament based 3D printer, and show you how to configure them to get the best quality in a variety of situations. - [Rich Cameron] You'll also see some of the things that can go wrong when reality doesn't match what's going on on the screen. And what you can do to fix things. Join us as we tie together all the pieces you'll need to get the best quality 3D print repeatably and reliably.
