- [Instructor] When you work in Mathematica, it is likely that you will have large data sets. If you want to specify certain elements in a matrix, such as a particular item at a row and column intersection, then you can do so by creating references to those specific items. In this movie, I will show you how to create those references. We'll start simple by creating a small two-by-three matrix, so I will assign it to a variable called A-M-A-T, which, in my head, just means a matrix. And then I will go to the Insert menu, point to Table Matrix and click New. And then in the Create Table/Matrix dialog box, I'll make sure that the matrix option is selected, and I want it to be two by three, two rows and three columns, so I will make sure that the number of rows is two, and the number of columns is three. Those text boxes already have the values two and three in place because the previous work I'd done, but you might need to edit them. With those settings in place, I will click Okay. There…
