- [Narrator] So far in this chapter, the charts I've shown you visually summarize lists of data. In this movie, I'll show you how to summarize values generated by an equation applied to a range of values. We use the plot command to bring this combination to life. I have created a blank mathematic in Notebook. So I need to specify the equation and the range over which I want to plot it. To plot a single function, you need to specify the function and the range of values. We'll use the Plot keyword. So I'll type "P-L-O-T" with a capital P. Then a left square bracket, and then the equation. I'll make it X raised to the third power minus X raised to the second power plus X. Then a comma. And now we need to enter in a list of three values. It's a list so I'll type a left curly bracket. I need to name the variable. That is X. And you can see that's the X used in the previous equation. Now I need to enter in the start value. That's minus six. Then a comma. And the ending value that is six. So…
