Create a scatter plot - Mathematica Tutorial
From the course: Mathematica 11 Essential Training
Create a scatter plot
- [Narrator] One common way to summarize your data visually is by creating a scatterplot. A scatterplot has two axes: an x-axis that runs along the horizontal edge of the graph and a y or vertical axis that runs up the side. You plot pairs of variables, one on the x-axis and one on the y-axis, and you can look for correlations or relationships between them. In this movie, I'll show you how to create a scatterplot in Mathematica. But first, I need some data to work with. I will start by entering in a list of pairs of values. I'll call my variable elist =. Then this is a list of two-item lists, so I'll start with a left curly bracket followed by a second left curly bracket to start the first sub-list. And the first pair is {14,5} then a comma. And then within curly brackets {7,7} comma. And then within curly brackets, the next pair {4,12} then a comma, {11,6} then a right curly bracket to close out that last pair of values. And then another right curly bracket to close out the list of…
