The oscillators, wavetables, and how to use them

- MASSIVE uses standard subtractive synthesis techniques to modify the sound once it's been created. But one of the things that makes MASSIVE so unique, is the fact that it is a wavetable synthesizer, which means that the actual source of the sound is something quite interesting. I'm gonna go over to my oscillator here and I'm gonna get rid of the modulation coming from Envelope One, just by right clicking, and hitting "Off." And I'm gonna go through and take a look at some of the wavetables. Now, with many standard synthesizers, the oscillators will have different wave forms, which are essentially just different groupings of harmonics. They give us a different raw sound to start work with, to filter or to modulate or to do whatever we want with. MASSIVE takes that one step further, in that each wavetable or wave that we're choosing, actually has a selection of flavors within it. We can go through those different sounds, or sets of harmonics, using the wavetable position knob. So…
