- MASSIVE can either run as a standalone version or as a plugin which requires your DAW. Throughout this course, we're going to use the plugin version since most people will be using it in this environment. Now, since this is an up and running course, I won't be going over every single feature. Instead I'm going to cover the basics so you can start making big sounds as quickly as possible. So let's get acquainted with the different sections here. Let's start with a navigation bar here at the top. This is where you can create a new sound from scratch, load a sound, save a sound you've created, import sounds from your hard drive and so on and so forth. Below that is the read up for how many voices MASSIVE is using. And since MASSIVE is a polyphonic synth it can play multiple voices at once. This box shows that MASSIVE has 16 available voices in this patch, but this number can be set to a higher value in another section of the synth. I'll get to that later.
