- Humor is a skill which means it can be learned. I know because I'm someone who had to learn how to use it. I've done over 1,000 shows as a stand-up comedian, improvisor, and story teller. I've spoken or performed in all 50 states, 25 plus countries, and on one planet, this one. But I recently went to my high school reunion and when people found out I did comedy, they were like, but you're not funny. That's because growing up, I was never the life of the party, or the class clown. My senior year, I was voted Teacher's Pet. But I started doing improv and stand-up in college. And while you don't have to become a professional comedian to learn how to use humor, we can learn from the pros. If we reverse engineer the skill of humor, it comes down to three things, first is your sense of humor. Something every human has. Yes, even accountants.
