(upbeat music) - Growing up, Gen Z was raised very different than the millennials. During the millennials' formative years, they were told by their baby boomer parents that at the end of the day if they tried their hardest and they didn't win, that's okay because at least they participated. That is not the message I got, and it is not the message Gen Z'ers got. Check this out. - A participation award? - Uh, yeah? - Oh I don't think so. The only one getting that would be me, 'cause I got you there on time. - I was literally told by my dad growing up that if anyone gets a participation award, it's him, 'cause he got me there, and we were on time. - So what happened here? We watched baby boomers parent millennials with a lot of coddling. They told them it doesn't matter if you're the best. Just try your hardest, play to your strengths.
